Since we’ve been in our house we’ve had our home to ourselves for a total of 8 months. We’ve lived in our home for over 2 years. The other 16 some odd months we have had someone or some bodies living with us. Yes, I know, we are the nicest people ever! It’s true. For the most part being able to share my home with family and friends has been a blessing. Since we don’t have any children it has been easy to accept others into our home. It’s our way of helping them get their feet on the ground. All...., except one, has left our home running full sprint.
Scott’s brother is back and has been with us for only one week. Pulling my hair out comes to mind; or maybe stabbing my eye with a pencil. In a year can you imagine what I will look like if I continue this selfish spiral? Yes, that’s how long the agreement is for. (Or until we receive the miraculous call that we are getting a baby…I believe in Miracles!)
I’m praying for a better attitude, an open mind, and more patience! I just hope that his stay with us will eventually end with him sprinting toward his dreams!

You are completely amazing and generous!!! What else can I say? ~Mindy
ReplyDeleteYou are the woman! I totally believe in miracles too.
ReplyDeleteContract ammendment #1:
Guests happily clean up Sammy poop bombs.
Oh, you are a good woman! Deep breaths, deep breaths! If you ever feel like you are going to lose it and need a girls night out to the movies - call me :)
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people, Shawna. I know very few people, however, who are as repeatedly Christ-like as you and Scott are. I may be older than you, but I often watch the way you two handle life just to learn how it ought to be done. You've opened your hearts and your home here... the natual results are tests and trials. But remember, these tests and trials are the ones we came here for. Handling them well will earn you a place with our Father. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good and nice person you are! Miracles do happen, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for you and Scott. Hang in there!!!
ReplyDeleteShawna, Can I just say that I'm so lucky to have for a sister. There is no one in the world like you. I know this is going to be a huge test for you but I also know you will get through it. And I pray everyday for you to get a child. Heavenly Father knows your heart and He will bless you more than you ever expected. I love you so much and I wish that I could be there to hang out with you and help you. Call me anytime you want to vent. I love you so much. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteThis is just a test. Hello from Scott
ReplyDeleteummm please don't stab your eyes out - or pull out your hair ;) ;) Know that you are loved and appreciated- you have know idea. Heck you have even let US live with you for a week- NOW if you and Scott can handle THAT- well then "this too shall pass". Hang in there and know that you are a SAINT and I just KNOW that the LORD has miracles in store for both you and Scott!!!
