Ode to Diet Coke

I take a dive into divinity
when there's diet coke in the vicinity
it reaches out and takes a hold
the stuff is like liquid gold
I know it's bad for me but I don't care
I drink and drink till there's nothing there
it's the sweet nectar of the gods
even though it puts my health at odds
so this is my little ode to diet coke
(it's a heck of a lot better then egg yolk)

Everything comes down to poo

Now, everyone knows that Scott's world centers around his BM's! (You obviously know where this post is going, so stop now if you don't want to know anymore about poo) He broadcast his love for the stuff to everyone and everything whenever he gets the chance. It can be a little embarrassing for me sometimes, but for the most part I have really come to appreciate it too.

We love the show "Scrubs" it makes us laugh hard every week! But this last episode was right up Scott's alley. The episode was about a woman who fainted in the park. When she was revived everyone around her, including herself sang all their words whenever they would speak. So the whole episode was a big, fun, musical, while at the same time trying to figure out what the lady's illness was.

I want to share one of the songs that Scott really enjoyed:

Video ipod

So, for Christmas Scott got me this wicked awesome video ipod. I never really had a desire to own one. It's funny because I would always use my pda to listen to music or books and since the pda didn't have a lot of memory I would always make Scott add more to the pda after I got through with the stuff that was previously on it. Scott became very sick of this routine and resorted to buying me this freakn' slick video ipod. I LOVE IT!!
It's amazing how easy they are to use. And you can take it anywhere. I've used it at home, working out, at work, on the road, in the Dr's office, I could go on. My one problem? I needed something to protect it, a cool case of some sort. The ipod is black and you could see smudges and finger prints very easily and I was always very careful to not drop it. One day I was looking for some protection for my ipod when I came across this cool website: www.ifrogz.com by far it had the coolest cases and they weren't nearly as expensive as what I had been seeing while surfing the web. What's even cooler, is that the company is located right here in Utah. Logan, UT. to be exact. Not only had I found my dream ipod case, but I was supporting a Utah business!
It took about 11 days to get my new ifrogz case in the mail, but it has been worth it. It has protected my ipod so well! Thanks Scott for such a great and handy Christmas gift!

Aaah, the lazy days of bitter cold January!

Last week was an absolute lazy week for Scott and I. I was just getting over a cold and every time I stepped over the threshold of our home the overwhelming urge to do NOTHING seeped in. I fell into temptation and drug Scott along with me.

Monday: "So, how about Subway tonight?"

" Great, I'll go grab it on my way to the Library."

Tuesday: " Taco Tuesday sounds good?"

"Great, I'll pick it up when I go pick up my prescriptions."

Wednesday: " 'Friends' and a hamburger sound like a good way to spend the evening."

"Great, I'll grab it on my way home from work."

and so on..................................

This destructive pattern happened right up until Saturday night. My dishes hadn't been touched, not that there was much to do, and the laundry was certainly piling up. Scott never complained, and so we continued to live like pigs for a whole week.

We watched movies, caught up on all our missed TV shows (love the tivo), and downloaded songs for our ipod. We even tried to tackle our bathroom remodeling project on Saturday but instead grabbed a hot dog and soda at Costco after going to a matinee movie. Man, life's hard!!!

Saturday night we finally realized that this had to stop. Our lazy days had to come to an end. I was actually missing the cooking I used to do. I really wanted to wear clean clothes, and the dust on my bathroom vanity was just too much. I blame all this laziness on the bitter cold we've been having. We've been in the mood to just be comfortable and warm, and that is exactly what we have been. Comfortable, warm, and mega lazy. What an awesome way to start out the new year when you haven't made any resolutions. Hopefully when I step over the threshold tonight Scott will hear, "Hey honey, how does spaghetti sound?" and then when he goes to bed he'll have a clean bathroom to clean up in, and some clean pj's to wear.

Resolutions

So it's 2007. Actually it's 8 days into the new year. This is the time that everyone decides to change something about themselves, get rid of an annoying habit, or do something new and different. I've been making resolutions for as long as I can remember and the easier the goal, the more likely I am to accomplish it. One of my goals for last year was to keep a journal. No prob, did that, and I have reaped the rewards. My other goal was to loose weight. Too hard, no way, didn't drop a pound! I guess this resolution stuff is all in the head.

So this year, instead of making my New Years Resolutions, I'm not making any at all. This year is the year for me to succeed! It's all in the head guys! If there are no expectations then at the end of the year there won't be any disappointments, there won't be any deep depression to go through, there won't be another new year where I sit down and reflect over the things I never accomplished or tried, or goals that I didn't reach.

I'm hoping that if I don't obsess over it, I'll actually conquer it! So wish me luck on the whole "not making a resolution this year" and we'll see what this year will bring!

Catch up

Well, it's been quite the month! With having two weeks off work, Christmas, and a wedding, time can really pass by. It's nice to be back to normal, but it's sad to see the fun times go. Christmas went so fast for us that we hardly got any pictures. I guess since we don't have any children yet, it really isn't worth capturing. We enjoyed our first Christmas eve at home and it was fun to have my side of the family spend the night and to be there to welcome Christmas day. Kristy's wedding came even faster and it was so special to all join together as an eternal family in the Temple to see Kristy and Ryan sealed. By a special experience during the sealing, we also felt Scott's (my little brother) presence as well. New years came and went with a bang, and of course we are now back to normal.....except for a horrible cold I've picked up. So until my next exciting post. Good night!
