Lately....

... life in the Harmon home has finally settled down. For the past two and half weeks we've been dealing with some severe colds. It all started with Scott; he brought home the cold passed it on to Awesome who got the croup pretty bad for about three days which then initiated a visit to the Dr.'s office for some breathing treatments. Two days later Henry started to cough and it got so bad that I feared he had RSV or some other awful virus so I took him in again and was told he just had a cough and would get over it but the cough would continue to linger for about another month. Poor baby coughed so hard there for a while that he was throwing everything up. Then, to make things worse Scott got the cold AGAIN but this time with a vengeance. When he gets colds I want to scream. All he does is cough and cough and cough some more. You don't understand, this cough we call the "Harmon cough" where they don't only cough but they throw in a nice clearing of the throat as well! Yowzers it drives me nuts. There were several nights where I kicked Scott out and sent him packin to the basement. Thank goodness, and knock on wood, I haven't had this horrid virus. I felt like I had an eternal cold while I was pregnant don't need another one while taking care of my three babies!
The last two Sunday's we've kept the kids home from church. Awesome loves church and when he see's me getting ready for church (I teach Sunday school) he would say, "Church mom?" and nod his head waiting for me to respond with a "Yes, let's get dressed in your church clothes." but instead I said, "Sorry bud, you're too sick to go to church today. You can go when you get better." He responds with a loud sigh saying, "AAAAHHHHH!!!" At one point he cried. He'll be able to go to church this Sunday. He's really excited about that!
During our virus extravaganza Awesome was a little pill, to be expected, but for the last couple of days it's been nice to have the old Awesome back. He's such a good boy and he's helped me out a lot with King H. He's such a loving brother. He's good at entertaining and keeping King H happy and he smothers him with kisses every chance he has. He calls his brother "Baby He He."

During Conference weekend it snowed. Awesome loves the "knows" (snow) and takes any chance he can get to get outside and play in the white stuff. All morning he kept asking me if he could go out and play. I told him he had to wait till after conference. While listening to conference Scott was in the bedroom and I was nursing King H. We couldn't hear Awesome playing. I called to Scott to see if he knew where Awesome was. A couple of minutes later we found him outside in his pj's and socks trying to shovel the walk while eating his toast. We've since invested in locks on the doors that he can't reach.

The other day I was nursing King H and Awesome came up to me and said, "Mom, what do?" I said, "I'm feeding your brother." Awesome then leaned closer in toward my breast and mimicked sucking and then leaned back and said, "NO, eeewwww" and then spit toward the floor and started scrapping his tongue with his hand. I laughed so hard!

While praying we'll tell Awesome what to say since he can't quite pray on his own yet. He gets a little ahead of himself. Here's how the prayers usually goes:

Mom: "Dear Heavenly"
Awesome: "Father"
Mom: "We are "
Awesome: "Thankful"
......
Mom: "In the name"
Awesome: "of"
Mom: "Jesus Christ"
Awesome: (loud and jumping up with joy) "AMEN!"

Whenever we put toys away Awesome will chime in with this little ditty. Does it sound familiar?
"EEEn up, Eeen up, everywhere. Eeen up, eeeen up ehhh share!"
(Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do their share.)

We've been trying to potty train. It's slow but we know that it would be. Scott has invited Awesome in on several occasions to watch him use the bathroom. The other day I walked in on Awesome standing butt naked over his little training potty squeezing his penis and grunting. I said, "Bud, what are you doing?" He replied, " I pee".

Every once in a while I'll wake up to Awesome's hands cradled around my face with his face up next to mine as he whispers, "Mom, I eat!"

Awesome's favorite things; fries and gum. Whenever we are out in the car or at the store he'll always ask for those two things. He can down the fries and he's a great gum chewer. The other day he was watching one of his favorite movies, Cars, and he was just a chewin away. He chewed that piece of gum through the whole movie.

King H has been a wonderful addition to our little family. He's been such a trooper, already suffering with two colds before his three month mark. He's a good sleeper. Sleeps good through the night and he loves to watch everything around him. A couple of weeks ago Scott tried to get some pictures of King H but he was uncooperative except for one great photo we were able to capture. It capture him well and we were so pleased with the way it turned out.

Great grandma Sanderson gave us money so we could get King H a Teddy Bear. These are the boys posing with the stuffed bear we got.

Awesome loves his naps. We have a daily ritual. After lunch we run to his room and strip him down to his diaper. Not even socks are allowed to stay on and he climbs into bed and drifts into dream land. Before dream land can come though, he has to have "arry" (Harry) and "aman" (Superman pillow) by his side at all times.

Grandma Sanderson stopped by for a hair cut. In the process she helped Awesome become a little taller.

You'd think with it being almost the end of April I wouldn't have to keep putting this cute little bini on King H! Come on Spring, where are you?

Awesome and Tia, best buds!

The other day Awesome wanted to play in the front yard. We live in a cul-de-sac full of kids and so I don't worry as much about cars but I still like to have someone out there with him when he's playing in the front. Tia was over at the time and turned to me and said, "I will watch him for you. I'm good at watching him."

Well ok then, go play!

Grandma Sanderson got Awesome a new dog for being a brave boy while having a questionable mole removed. One morning I walked into the kitchen and found him trying to feed his new dog.

I really enjoy being home with my boys. Some of the most priceless and heartfelt moments are shared when we're all together doing the day.

Next post, Awesome's awesome dance moves!!!
