Catch up...

 I know, I know, it's been waaaaaayyyy too long since I've made a post. My excuse; I play with my kids now more than I play on the computer. It's true! But I've also realized that I need to have some balance and so I've decided to finally get my digital scrapbooks going for the boys and so I guess that means finding time to put together a post or two on this here blog of mine. No sweat. So I guess I need to do a little catch up. I was going to post holiday pics and birthday pics but that was going to make this post way to long and so I decided to simplify and just post the recent stuff.
Christmas was fabulous. Santa brought a lot more than we realized but we all loved it. Awesome had an awesome Kung Fu Panda birthday party. Kelly and Andrew moved back home from "Sweet home" Alabama (I'm so freakin excited about that). Scott got a rockin new job with the state. H-bug celebrated his first birthday, can't believe how time just flies by. Scott turned 34 last week and March is now upon us. Right now as I'm typing Window World his here installing new windows in our home. Now that's like Christmas in my book! Anyway, things are great and we are all doing well, minus the colds we're fighting, but we really are great and feel so blessed.

This year, as is tradition, we took one of our FHE nights and went to the pumpkin patch for pictures and a perfect pumpkin. We got some great pics and a great pumpkin.

This year has been so much fun with Awesome approaching three. With the holidays coming he's getting more and more excited for the big man in red. Halloween this year was so much fun! We love being a family and enjoy all the little gifts of joy our two boys give to us each day. I never imagined being a mom could be this much fun!

Summer of fun part 4: The Harmon Family Reunion

This year for our Harmon family reunion we went up to the beautiful Heber Valley girls camp that is owned by the LDS church. It really is a wonderful facility and it was perfect for our reunion. We were able to enjoy the outdoors with the comforts of home. Everyone was there except for our beloved mom and grandma who is currently in Texas taking care of her sweet sister who is going through cancer treatments. 

Everyone started arriving on Thursday Aug. 18th and we stayed and played till early evening Saturday Aug. 20th. From the pictures below you will see that there was a lot to do. We had a great time playing with cousins, visiting, hiking, and enjoying nature ... all that our Heavenly Father has to offer. We really had a great time.

Thursday night was a get in, unpack, and get things settled kind of a night. Awesome was ready for bed.

The middle cabin became the "cousin" cabin. Not a lot of sleeping going on in there. I felt  bad for
Brett and Mindy who decided to sleep in there with all the kids. 

Ahhhh, Friday morning. Everyone getting breakfast and ready for the full day ahead.

Our family was in charge of breakfast that first morning. Scott wrangled up some great french toast
that everyone devoured. It was so delicious....

.... while Awesome and I finished up by doing the dishes. Awesome did a great job  drying the dishes
for me.

While we were wrapping up our afternoon of challenge courses I was packing all our stuff up to go when I heard Awesome scream. It wasn't a normal "I've hurt myself and fell down kind of a scream", it was a blood curdling  "I've been mortally injured" kind of scream. My heart sank and I looked down toward my 2 year who had his head down. His hat brim was in the way so I couldn't see what he was trying to dig out of his face in a fury. My father in law immediately informed me that he thought a bug had bit him. That he watched the big bug leave Awesome's face and that it was black. When I finally got Awesome to calm down enough to where he wasn't trying to dig out his right eye anymore I took a look and found that he had been stung twice. Once in the upper eyelid and the second below the same eye. I felt so bad for him. I quickly rinsed out his eyes since he'd been rubbing them so vigorously with his dirty hands and then I just held him tight until his dad came to take him. By the time we got back to the car he was rearing to go and play again. His eye still irritated him throughout the rest of the day and it did swell up pretty good even after a dose of benedryl but he was a trooper and bounced right back to being the happy energetic kid he is.

Friday night was talent/skit night. Boy was that a hoot. Each family performed and it was so fun to see the variety of things each family came up with. We told the story of Cowboy Awesome taken from the far fetched stories of Pecos Bill. Awesome and Scott acted out the story as I narrated. We had a really entertaining night.

We had such a great time this year. Thanks to Tom and Karen for planning, reserving, and providing all the great things that made this years reunion so wonderful and fun. We love when we can all get together and the kids love it more. It's so fun to watch them run around for hours playing, and getting along so well. It's times like these when you are so thankful that families are forever!
Our last post: Our summer of fun part 5: Wrapping it up!  My goal is to get my last post in before Sep. 23rd, the first day of FALL.... can you believe it! Sheesh.
